Tom took this in 1949, looking west down the Reflecting Pool toward the Lincoln Memorial. The building was finished in 1922, modeled after the Parthenon, and grew to mean even more to the city a decade later, when Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech from its steps. This photograph was pulled from Tom's slide archive of a postwar trip to Washington D.C., reproduced as an archival-quality fine art print.
